What the price depends on
- Packaging. A tonne in 15 kg bags usually costs more than a tonne in big bags, because bags need more packing work and material.
- Volume. The more tonnes per delivery, the lower the price per tonne.
- Season. Demand peaks before and during the heating season. Buying earlier usually costs less (when to buy).
- Delivery. The distance and the tonnes per truck affect the delivered price.
- Quality. Ash content, moisture and heating value decide how much heat you get from a tonne.
How to compare prices fairly
Compare the price per tonne including VAT and delivery to your address. The cheapest tonne is not always the cheapest heating (how to choose good pellets).
